The Ammonia Awareness (L1–L3) training delivered by BGMC is a tiered, role-based safety program designed for personnel working in or around ammonia (NH₃) systems, including refrigeration plants, cold storage, food processing, chemicals, fertilizers, and industrial utilities. The program builds progressive competence—from basic awareness to advanced operational control—focusing on hazard recognition, prevention, emergency response, and safe work practices.

Level 1 – Ammonia Awareness (Basic)

For: General staff, contractors, visitors
Focus: Awareness, recognition, and safe behavior

You will learn:

  • What ammonia is and where it is used

  • Health effects and exposure symptoms

  • Odor recognition and basic detection

  • Do’s & don’ts around ammonia systems

  • Alarm response and evacuation actions

Duration: 2–3 Hours

Level 2 – Ammonia Safety for Operators & Technicians

For: Operators, maintenance staff, supervisors
Focus: Operational safety and incident prevention

You will learn:

  • Properties of ammonia (toxicity, flammability)

  • System components and common leak points

  • Safe isolation and basic control measures

  • Use of gas detectors and alarms

  • PPE selection and limitations

  • Permit-to-work integration and reporting

Duration: 4–6 Hours

Level 3 – Advanced Ammonia Safety & Emergency Response

For: Senior operators, engineers, ERT & HSE leaders
Focus: Advanced control, emergency management, and leadership

You will learn:

  • Risk assessment and hazard analysis

  • Emergency response planning and roles

  • Leak control strategies and escalation

  • Use of respiratory protection (SCBA awareness)

  • Incident command and coordination

  • Post-incident investigation and improvement
