About the test

What IELTS is, and why it matters

The International English Language Testing System is the English-language proficiency test used for study, work, migration and immigration in countries around the world.
Universities, employers, professional bodies and immigration authorities across the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and beyond accept it as proof of your English. Your result stays valid for two years from the test date.
Test format

The four modules

Total test time is around 2 hours 45 minutes. Listening, Reading and Writing are taken on the same day; Speaking may fall up to a week either side.

Listening

30 minutes4 sections40 questions

Recordings play once only. On the computer-delivered test you get 2 minutes at the end to review your answers — not the 10-minute transfer window paper candidates used to have.

Reading

60 minutes3 sections40 questions

Academic uses three long passages from journals, books and periodicals. General Training uses shorter workplace and everyday texts in the first two sections, then one longer passage in the third.

Writing

60 minutes2 tasks

Task 1 is a report describing a chart, graph or diagram (Academic) or a letter (General Training). Task 2 is an essay in both modules, and it carries twice the weight of Task 1.

Speaking

11–14 minutes3 partsFace-to-face

A face-to-face interview with a certified examiner — this part has not changed. Part 1 covers introduction and familiar topics, Part 2 is a two-minute talk from a cue card, Part 3 is a longer discussion.

Important update

IELTS is now computer-delivered in Pakistan

Since March 2026, all standard IELTS testing in Pakistan — through both the British Council and IDP — is delivered on computer. The paper-based option has been withdrawn nationwide, and the same shift is happening globally from mid-2026.

  • Listening, Reading and Writing are completed on a computer at the test centre
  • Speaking remains a face-to-face interview with a certified examiner
  • The format, question types, scoring and worldwide recognition are unchanged
  • Results are typically available within 3–5 business days
  • One Skill Retake lets you resit a single module instead of the whole test

Our training is built around the on-screen format — you'll practise typing essays, working with the on-screen highlighter, and managing the real 2-minute Listening review window.

Programme

How the course runs

Every student starts with an assessment, so the four weeks that follow are shaped around what you actually need.
Before you start

Initial assessment

Every enrolled student sits a diagnostic assessment to determine their proficiency level, so the trainer knows exactly which modules need the most work before training begins.

Weeks 1–4

Core training

Monday to Friday, 7:30–8:30 PM. Sessions are one-to-one, so the pace and focus follow your assessment rather than a fixed class syllabus. All four modules are covered, with strategy work on question types and timing.

Week 5

Mock tests

Five days of full mock tests under timed conditions, each followed by feedback so you know precisely where marks are being lost.

Throughout

Business Communication

One free Business Communication class per week, roughly — useful well beyond the test itself.

If needed

10-day extension

Students may receive an additional 10-day extension based on performance and trainer evaluation.

What's included

  • One-to-one sessions for every student — no group classes
  • Initial diagnostic assessment
  • Five days of mock tests with feedback
  • Free weekly Business Communication class
  • Systems and headsets provided at the BGMC facility
  • Possible 10-day extension on trainer evaluation

Fees

35,000 PKR — full 4-week programme, mock tests and Business Communication classes

The IELTS test fee is separate. You pay it directly to the British Council or IDP when you book your test date. Fees change and vary by city and test type, so confirm the current amount on the official booking page before paying.

Questions

Before you enrol

Do I need a minimum level of English to join?

No fixed entry requirement. Every student takes a diagnostic assessment first, and the training plan is built around that result — so the starting point is wherever you actually are.

Is the course fee the same as the test fee?

No. The PKR 35,000 covers your training with BGMC. The IELTS test itself is booked and paid for separately through the British Council or IDP. Confirm the current test fee on their official booking page.

What happens if I need more time?

Students may receive an additional 10-day extension after the four-week programme, based on performance and trainer evaluation.

Do you help with test registration?

Talk to our team — we'll walk you through which test type applies to your target institution and what the booking process involves.

Are classes in a group or one-to-one?

Every student gets personalised one-to-one sessions. Classes run Monday to Friday, 7:30–8:30 PM, physically at the BGMC facility, where systems and headsets are provided.

Start with the assessment
