GNC stands for the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. It is a UK-regulated qualification (Ofqual, RQF Level 3) and the most widely recognised entry-level H&S qualification in British industry.
The qualification is built on two units: GNC1 — Management of Health and Safety, and GNC2 — Workplace Hazards. Together they cover both the management framework and practical hazard identification skills that UK employers expect.
No — and BGMC is transparent about this from the start. The NEBOSH exam fee (£190 + VAT) is charged separately. For E-Learning Guided learners, you pay this fee when you are ready to sit — after completing your sessions and proficiency assessment. There is a 25-day advance notice requirement.
E-Learning Guided learners receive one dedicated one-to-one session with a NEBOSH-Approved Master Trainer for each of the 11 NGC elements — 20 to 40 minutes each. These are not group classes or recorded videos. They are live, personal, and booked at a time that suits you.
Yes — both E-Learning and E-Learning Guided offer flexible start dates. Virtual Live requires booking for a specific batch. BGMC will confirm your start and first session within 48 hours of enrolment.
Every E-Learning Guided learner chooses one complimentary add-on at enrolment: either IOSH Managing Safely or the ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (40 hours, accredited by Exemplar Global USA). This is included in the £799 course fee — there is no additional charge.
If you complete all 11 personalised sessions, all proficiency assessments, and your Viva Simulation but do not pass the exam on your first attempt, BGMC provides full re-access to the next cohort at no additional training cost. You would only be responsible for the £190 exam re-registration fee.
